The Lake Hayes Show has a new sponsor for 2017.

7th December 2016

Our new Red Ribbon Sponsor for 2017 is Arrowtown Lifestyle Retirement Village The team behind the village have long associations with both the district and the show.

Village director, Debbie MacColl says

“We felt sponsoring the Lakes Hayes A & P show was a good fit for us. It’s all about bringing the district together and celebrating our community”.

MacColl grew up with the show as a big part of her summer with her father President from 1968 -1971, and then as a committee member herself for 8 years, including her role as president from 1999- 2000.  Notably, MacColl was the first female to hold the president role.

Village director, Roger Monk – who farms the land on which the village will be built, has been very active in various aspects of the show since the 1960’s – spending a lot of time in the pony ring and the wool tent.

The Arrowtown Lifestyle Retirement Village has recently gained resource consent to build 120 villas, 75 apartments and a care facility on McDonnell Road near Arrowtown. “The support we received from the community throughout the consent process was significant – we wouldn’t be at this point without the local people behind us”, said Managing Director, Aaron Armstrong.

In addition to the retirement accommodation, unprecedented lifestyle facilities have been included in village plans, including: residents lodge; indoor pool; spa; gym; library; café; bar; and village green to name a view.

The village will have a trade stand at the show, located next to the main stage. The team are excited to have the opportunity to interact with older people in the district, and plan to offer a tempting prize to visitors to the Arrowtown Lifestyle Retirement Village stand.
